Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine considers systematization of the legislative work as one of the most essential tasks of the Parliament for the next year.
In the interview to Ukrainski Novyny news agency on Friday, V. Lytvyn stated, "Legislative process of the Verkhovna Rada usually covers nearly 2,5 thousand issues." He emphasized, "It is necessary to systematize the legislative work, and settle the problem of legislative base codification."
The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament stated that the Verkhovna Rada shall complete the constitutional reform and improve the election legislation. These issues "are in the field of European Community vision," he stated. V. Lytvyn reminded that the Parliament shall adopt several legislative acts to meet the obligations of Ukraine before the Council of Europe, as the monitoring of this institute is ongoing. "We should meet the liabilities as soon as possible and stop being such an unattractive exception", he admitted.
